California Real Estate License Courses
To become a Realtor (Real Estate Salesperson or Agent), the California Department of Real Estate requires you to be 18 years old, successfully complete a Real Estate Principles Course, and pass the qualifying exam. Additionally, you must complete one elective Course. Which courses are required are described in more detail on the Real Estate Sales FAQ page.
Real Estate Sales Agents that wish to become Brokers are required to have TWO full years of experience as a licensed real estate salesperson within the last FIVE years. You must then complete 5 mandatory Courses and 3 elective Courses. Specific qualification requirements are detailed on the Real Estate Broker FAQ page.
